Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa (OFR), Commends the Victims Support Fund for Non-Kinetic Efforts in Bringing Peace

On 26 April 2024, the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa (OFR), paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chairman of the Victims Support Fund (VSF), Air Vice Marshal Lawal Alao (Rtd). During this visit, General Musa expressed his appreciation for the vital work being done by the VSF in supporting victims of terrorism across the nation.

In particular, General Musa commended the Chairman of the VSF, Lt Gen TY Danjuma (Rtd) GCON, and the entire staff for their unwavering dedication and selfless service in providing care and assistance to those affected by acts of violence. He recognized the critical role played by the VSF in the non-kinetic efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability to the country.

In response, AVM Lawal Alao (Rtd), expressed his gratitude for the visit and reiterated the VSF’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to victims of terrorism. He stated that the VSF remains dedicated to alleviating the suffering of victims and supporting their rehabilitation and empowerment.

He announced that the VSF management has approved support to some of the widows and orphans of veterans of the Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism. He expressed his commitment to working to ensure that these vulnerable groups receive the assistance and support they require to rebuild their lives.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to strengthen collaboration and enhance support for victims of terrorism in Nigeria.
