The Victims Support Fund (VSF) has launched its 2023-2025 intervention in Borno State with the distribution of dry season farming inputs to three thousand (3000) farmers across Gamboru Ngala and Gwoza Local Government Areas of Borno State. This intervention is a part of its mandate to provide support to victims of terrorism and insurgency.

This intervention aims to strengthen the Borno State Government’s dry season farming initiative, thereby enhancing agriculture and food supply in the Northeast region.

The distribution included support for one thousand, eight hundred (1,800) farmers in Gamboru Ngala LGA and one thousand two hundred (1,200) farmers in Izge, Gwoza LGA. Each farmer received:

  • 25kg of rice seed,
  • 50kg of fertilizer,
  • 2 litres of insecticide,
  • 2 litres of herbicide, and
  • 1 knapsack sprayer.

In addition to distributing farm inputs, VSF has trained Agricultural Extension Workers in the respective communities to assist farmers and impart contemporary farming methods and knowledge.

Through this intervention, VSF anticipates increased agricultural productivity, improved food security, and enhanced livelihoods for the beneficiary farmers and their communities.
