Victims Support Fund Partners With The Aisha Buhari Foundation In The Establishment Of Future Assured College

The Chairman, Victims Support Fund (VSF), General TY Danjuma GCON, has approved a Core Support of N500,000,000 (Five Hundred Million Naira Only) for the Future Assured College in Maiduguri. The college which was established by the Aisha Buhari Foundation (ABF), is an initiative of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, aimed at remedying the devastating impact of the general ideology of Boko Haram which had led to the creation of radical youth driven by religious misconceptions that orchestrated mayhem, disrupted education, and led to the general underdevelopment of Borno people who are the most affected by the insurgency.

This Support by Victims Support Fund is part of its efforts to support separated and unaccompanied children who have been affected as a result of the insurgency in Northeast Nigeria. The College will focus on supporting orphans through the provision of trauma healing, Islamic and Western Education preparatory to their future roles as leaders. It will also work to facilitate the creation of an environment free from religious and social radicalism both within families and communities.

The core funding to be provided by the VSF will be for the purchase of fixed assets such as computers, laboratory equipment, furniture, the operational and administrative activities for a period of three years.

The Victims Support Fund, under the Chairmanship of General TY Danjuma GCON, who has ensured the judicious management of its resources mobilized to provide succour to victims of terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria since 2015. The VSF supports multi-thematic interventions that cover Infrastructural development; Women Economic Empowerment; Health Care, Education and Protection; Peacebuilding and Research.
