THREE (3) SCHOOLS IN TARABA STATE RECEIVE WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) FACILITIES FROM VICTIMS SUPPORT FUND (VSF)

Following the successful implementation of the 1st and 2nd phase of the VSF Covid-19 Emergency Intervention Programme, which involved the distribution of food, medical consumables and personal protective equipment’s (PPE’s) to nineteen (19) states across the six (6) geo-political zones of the country as well as the provision of support and donations to The National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Federal Ministry of Health and The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The VSF Taskforce on Covid-19 as part of its 3rd phase commenced the hand-over of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities to fifty-four (54) schools in eighteen states (18) across the six (6) geo-political zones of Nigeria. Three (3) schools in each state have been chosen to benefit from this.

The three schools in Taraba State to benefit from the WASH projects are: Government Day Secondary School Jauro, Yinu, Ardokola LGA, Government Secondary School Wukari and Government Commercial Secondary School, Takum.

The Commissioning and handing over was done on the 10th of  May 2021.

These schools will receive:

  1. A solar-powered borehole
  2. 4 Hand Wash Stations
  3. 2000 Pcs of Reusable Facemasks
  4. 5 pieces of 4 Ltr Hand Sanitizers
  5. 120 Bottles of 500ml Liquid Hand wash
  6. 5 cartons of bleach

Victims Support Fund continues to work to provide relief to victims of insurgency and armed conflict in Nigeria especially in the core areas of livelihood and recovery, education and protection, infrastructural development, and peacebuilding.
