Victims Support Fund Commences Reconstruction of Buildings in Michika LGA Adamawa State

Victims Support Fund (VSF) on Saturday 9th September 2017 flagged-off the reconstruction of public buildings at the Michika Local Government Area Secretariat. The project will be executed by the Adamawa State Government with funds from VSF.

The Executive Director VSF Dr. Sunday Ochoche disclosed that the sum of N390 million had been provided in building materials and labour costs. The funds were for the  Michika LG Secretariat which consists of the Michika LGA (Admin Block) Works Department Finance and  Budget Department  Agric and  Education Department Legislative Council Provision of Borehole and Generator Renovation of 4 Class Rooms, GSS Bazza Renovation of Girls  Hostel GSS Bazza Renovation of 3 Classrooms Kamalagu Primary  School Renovation of 3 Classrooms John Gulli Primary  School Renovation 3 classrooms 3 new classroom  blocks, Waranki Primary  School, 2 new classroom blocks, Futuless Primary  School renovation, Garta Clinic/Maternity as well as provision of a borehole and generator.

Dr. Ochoche while promising to ensure the judicious use of funds for quality service delivery also  revealed that the next project would be the renovation of 7 major schools –  4 schools in Madagali Local Government and 3 schools in Hong Local Government areas of Adamawa State

The Vice Chairman VSF Alhaji Tijani Tumsah in his remark expressed hope that the reconstruction project in Michika will help to restore governance institutions while restoring life to normalcy for the people who have suffered devastation from the insurgency.

Also speaking, the member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Adamu Kamale, and the Chairman of Michika Local Government Council, Mr Vandi Favanza, lauded VSF for its support to Michika and Adamawa State.
