VICTIMS SUPPORT FUND DITRIBUTES FOOD AND MEDICAL CONSUMABLES TO FIVE MORE STATES
Following the successful implementation of the 1st phase of the VSF Covid 19 emergency intervention, the VSF Taskforce on Covid-19 on 20th May 2020, commenced the implementation of the 2nd phase of the intervention in five additional states.
Sixty-eight thousand nine hundred and seventy-six (68,976) beneficiaries across five (5) states in the South-South and South-East Nigeria were identified and selected. 10kg bags of rice, 10kg bags of beans, 10kg bags of maize, 4 liters of vegetable oil and 2kg bags of salt were distributed to eleven thousand four hundred and ninety-six (11,496) households within the states where recent spikes in the cases of Covid-19 were reported. The five states are: Edo, Delta, Enugu, Ebonyi and Ekiti States.
The VSF Covid 19 Taskforce also donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) consisting of 275,000 surgical facemasks, 160,440 hand sanitisers, 1,870 Hazmat suits, 1,870 Protective goggles, and 1870 safety boots for health workers who are in the frontline of the battle with the Novel Corona virus.
