Victims Support Fund (Vsf) Taskforce On Covid-19 Donates Food Items, Medical Items And ‘Wash’ Facilities To Gombe State

The Taskforce on July 7, 2022, flagged off her phase IV Emergency Support Programme in Gombe State reaching out to 3000 Indigent Households with food items (comprising of rice, beans, maize, groundnut oil, and salt); medical items (googles, surgical face masks, hazmat suits, booths and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the State’s Ministry of Health; and three numbers 4000 Litres Solar powered Boreholes with branded VSF reusable face masks and hand sanitizers to three different schools under the State’s Ministry of Education across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

Barr. Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, during the symbolic borehole commissioning, reiterated, “Water is essential as it is the very epicenter of hygiene and sanitation. Therefore, we hope this facility will be effectively utilized, properly managed, and maintained by the schools and the Government”.

The three schools in Gombe State where the boreholes are located are:

  1. Government Secondary School, Malam Sidi. (Gombe North)
  2. Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Kuri village of Yamaltu Deba LGA. (Gombe Central)
  3. Government Secondary School Latatar village of Shongom LGA. (Gombe South).

David Daniel, a student and direct beneficiary from Government Secondary School, Malam Sidi expressed gratitude to the VSF while he spoke on behalf of the students of the School. “We are saying thank you for this solar borehole you have provided in our school. We promise to take care of it properly and ensure it last long”.

Victims Support Fund continues to work to provide relief to victims of insurgency and armed conflict in Nigeria especially in the core areas of livelihood and recovery, education and protection, infrastructural development, and peace building.
