VSF GIVES 391 PREGNANT WOMEN N10,000 CASH ASSISTANCE

The Foundation for the Support of Victims of Terrorism (VSF) on Thursday 3rd September 2015 was in Borno State to distribute N10,000 each to 391 pregnant women living in several  IDP camps scattered all over the state. This cash assistance was provided to help the women with incidental costs associated with pre and post natal care.

The Executive Director VSF Dr. Sunday Ochoche at the presentation ceremony, commiserated with the people of Borno State on the demise of the Deputy Governor Alhaji Zannah Mustapha. He expressed regret that VSF had lost a dedicated partner and crusader for victims of terrorism in the state.  The Executive Director explained that the cash assistance programme was in collaboration with NEMA who had earlier distributed dignity kits to the same set of women. Dr. Ochoche informed that VSF would still go ahead with its principal programmes which are centered on empowering women and educating children.

In his response, the Head of Service Barrister Yakubu Bukar who represented the Borno State Governor explained to the women that the cash support was ` a token’ and VSF would return for the implementation of their focal programmes. He also appreciated VSF for its efforts toward alleviating the suffering of the victims.

The beneficiaries were all smiles as they each came forward and received the N10,000.
