Victims Support Fund Assesses Damaged Infrastructure in Michika, Adamawa State

The Victims Support (VSF) in close partnership with Adamawa State Government and the member of Federal House of Representatives representing Michika/Madagali constituency embarked on an assessment tour of public buildings that were destroyed during the Boko Haram occupation of Michika, Adamawa State.

The Executive Director VSF Dr. Sunday Ochoche explained that the aim of reconstructing public facilities is to help restore local governance and services and also encourage normalcy for returnees. He further informed that in the first phase of rehabilitation, efforts would be concentrated on public infrastructure.

The member representing Michika/Madagali Honourable Adamu Kamale expressed pleasure that VSF considered his appeal and that of the state government to bring the intervention to Adamawa State and particularly Michika Local Government. Hon. Kamale enjoined people not to lose confidence in government but rather, unite in order to overcome the challenges in the Northeast.

The entire team paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor Engr. Martins Babale and briefed him on their findings in Michika. Engr. Babale said that the Governor though not in town, was closely monitoring progress and they were delighted that VSF had brought the rehabilitation and reconstruction intervention to Adamawa State and assured of the state governments full support.
