VICTIMS SUPPORT FUND COMMISSIONS RECONSTRUCTED PUBLIC STRUCTURES IN BAMA, BORNO STATE

The Chairman of The Nigeria Foundation for the Support of Victims of Terrorism (Victims Support Fund) Gen T Y Danjuma commissioned 10 reconstructed public buildings in Bama

Local Government Area Borno State on 20th July 2016. This project was executed by the Borno State Ministry of Reconstruction Rehabilitation and Resettlement with funding from VSF.

 

Dr. Sunday Ochoche the Executive Director of VSF, informed that the entire project which gulped three hundred and sixty eight million naira only (N368,000,000.00) is to facilitate the re-establishment of local governance and restoration of basic social amenities. He also called on the Chairman Bama Local Government and his staff to move in and commence work as this would encourage return. The renovated structures include the Bama Maternity Hospital, 8 primary schools and the Bama local government secretariat.

Speaking at the commissioning, General T Y Danjuma represented by the VSF Vice Chairman Alhaji Tijani Tumsah expressed satisfaction that resources were utilised judiciously and also reiterated that VSF is willing to do more with the cooperation of State Governments to commission more projects in order to bring succour to victims of insurgency.

Governor Kashim Shettima appreciated VSF under the leadership of General T Y Danjuma and assured the people that the Borno State Government remains committed to complete reconstruction for the safe return of the affected families.
