 VICTIMS SUPPORT FUND COMMISSIONS THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED MICHIKA LOCAL GOVERNMENT SECRETARIAT AND SIX (6) SCHOOLS IN ADAMAWA STATE

The Chairman of Victims Support Fund Lt. Gen. T. Y. Danjuma commissioned the newly constructed Local Government Secretariat Michika, Adamawa State on 30th May 2018. This project was executed by the Adamawa State Government with funding from VSF.

 

The Executive Director VSF Prof. Sunday Ochoche, informed that the entire project which cost over three hundred and eighty seven million naira only (N387,000,000.00) will restore basic social amenities and facilitate the re-establishment of local governance. He also called on the Chairman Michika Local Government and his staff to move in and commence work as this would encourage return. The reconstructed structures include the Michika local government secretariat which comprises of: the Admin Block, Works Department, Finance and Budget, Agric and Education Department, the Legislative Council and the provision of Borehole and Generator. The 6 primary schools reconstructed are: GSS Bazza, Girls Hostel GSS Bazza, Kamalagu Primary School, John Gulli Primary School, Waranki Primary School, Futuless Primary School and Garta Clinic and Maternity.

Speaking at the commissioning, General T Y Danjuma represented by the VSF Vice Chairman Alhaji Tijani Tumsah expressed satisfaction that resources were judiciously utilised, he further reiterated that VSF will continue to do more with the cooperation of State Governments to commission more projects in order to bring succour to victims of insurgency.
