Victims Support Fund Commences Reconstruction of GSS Takum in Takum LGA Taraba State

Victims Support Fund (VSF) on Monday 18th December 2017 flagged-off the reconstruction of Government Secondary School Takum. The project is funded by VSF, will be executed by Development Africa and supervised by the Taraba State Government.

The Chairman Presidential Committee on Victims Support Fund (PCVSF) General T. Y. Danjuma at the flag off ceremony disclosed that the project would further improve access to education by providing a conducive learning environment for Students within and outside of the State.

According to the Executive Director VSF Prof. Sunday Ochoche, The N1.25 billion project would involve the construction and reconstruction of classrooms, hostel and admin blocks, library, technical workshops, laboratories, borehole and solar electrical systems.

The State Government lauded the project and said the school would be upgraded to an International school and is now renamed International Model Government Secondary School Takum. This is a welcome development as there has been an influx of students from different communities in neighbouring insurgency ravaged States.

VSF continues to implement its prioritised interventions for victims of insurgency by improving quality of life through livelihood and entrepreneurial programmes, foster care, enhanced access to education, grants to hospitals, reconstruction, peace building and research.
